The original Plantshed first burst onto the New York floristry scene way back in 1971, when it opened its doors on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. The subsequent 45+ years have seen the evolving team of flower-lovers honing the qualities they’ve become so renowned for: “spectacular hand-crafted flower arrangements, beautiful bouquets, amazing orchid plants, indoor foliage and blooming plants for indoors and outdoors,” as the wonderfully-named owner Ilias Iliadis puts it. “Our shop is unique in the sense that we have a diverse group of designers that produce beautiful and different work,” continues Ilias. “We source farm-direct premium flowers and greenery along with interesting vessels to elevate every order. Our flowers and plants are hand delivered, in the vase you see, with the fresh water they need – freshly cut, arranged by hand and ready to display!” Best-known for their modern aesthetic, use of orchids and other premium blooms, Plantshed don’t just craft beautiful personal orders – there’s a good chance you’ve seen their large scale installations at hotels, restaurants and other eye-catching spaces around the city. “Creating lush, garden-style arrangements or darker, moodier palettesfor our fashion accounts is also one of our passions,” adds Ilias. Whatever the occasion or scale though, Ilias and his team stay true to one universal belief: “flowers bring joy to life!”
