Renowned for its high-end arrangements crafted from exotic blooms in unique colours and interesting textures – each conceptualised at the flower market in collaboration with their clients – Chicago’s Mudd Fleur is the brainchild of Maria Petrides and Kathy Hiotis.
Having started out as an intimate boutique in 2008, Mudd Fleur has been on quite the journey to date, now encompassing a full scale production studio in Chicago's trendy Fulton Market District, run by a close-knit team of seven.
As for the Mudd Fleur aesthetic, it’s “clean and unexpected”. “We combine only the freshest, premium blooms together to create conversation pieces that can be viewed as works of art on their own. We do not use fillers or many conventional blooms and focus on texture and clean design.”
When asked why they love working with flowers, for Maria and Kathy it’s all about the creativity that botanicals bring. "Flowers make everyone happy and are constantly evolving through growers creativity giving us an ever changing array of flowers to create art with.” We couldn’t have put it better ourselves.
