Often confused with London Bridge, Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge built between 1886 & 1894. An iconic symbol of London, the bridge crosses the River Thames right by the Tower of London, with its north side borough being Tower Hamlets. Before its restoration in 2010, the bridge's colour scheme still dated from 1977 - when it was painted red, white and blue for Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee.
