Big Apple Florist
Big Apple Florist is in the heart of Midtown East, just around the corner from Grand Central Station. Its owner, Marc, never imagined the business would grow into what it has today. Around 30 years ago, he went to help out one of his friends, a florist, during a holiday and immediately fell in the love with the energy of the business. Soon afterwards, he opened his own small flower shop, selling clean, contemporary arrangements. Fast forward to today, “And we find ourselves with over 20 employees and 6,000sq feet of space to design and create in,” he explains.
During the seasonal months, Big Apple Florist sources everything from local farms but for the rest of the year takes in flowers largely from Holland, South America, Chile and California, with delivery across New York City.
“You can’t get sick of flowers because they never last long enough, so you always get to remember them in their glory and the special feeling the gift was originally intended to bring to the surface.”
Roses and orchids are Big Apple Florist’s favourite stems. “They are classic and timeless,” says Marc. “Colors and the way they are used can change over time, but these flowers are true perfection never disappoint.”
