Clitheroe is a small town in the Ribble Valley area of the northern English county of Lancashire.

Clitheroe Castle Museum is a popular attraction in the town that details the town’s long and storied history. Based in a grade II listed building that was formerly the home of the Clitheroe Castle steward, the museum is based atop a hill and is a popular area with locals and tourists alike. The building is surrounded by verdant woodland and in spring and summer the area becomes filled with local wildflowers.

Pendle Hill is one of the highest points in the area with a summit more than 500 metres above sea level. Giving its name to the Borough of Pendle, the hill is home to a Bronze Age burial site and today the area is a popular venue for paragliders in Lancashire.
