Perhaps the best known of Accrington attractions is the stately home at Gawthorpe Hall. Located on the banks of the River Calder, it is a Grade I listed building with World Heritage Status since the 1950’s. The building itself hails from the Elizabethan era whilst the decor within is mostly Victorian.
The Singing Ringing tree is a futuristic art installation that sits overlooking the Pennines just a few miles from Accrington. Made of steel pipes, the sound that emanates from the sculpture on a windy Lancashire day is something very special indeed.
