Whilst it can technically refer to any urban street specialising in the sale of radio equipment, Radio Row in this instance is referring to New York City's Radio Row - which ran from 1921 to 1966 along the Lower West Side of the New York City borough of Manhattan. Interestingly, Radio Row was removed in 1966 to make room for the World Trade Center, which was host to a financial services more than the sale of hardware. Many writers also believe that Radio Row was also the origin of electronic component distribution business - quite the claim!
