Carmela de Castro is the lady behind Orchid Republic in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles. Against the backdrop of the beatific Santa Monica Mountains, the floristry studio is, quite simply, a way for Carmela and her team to express a “passion for creating beautiful things.”
Inspired by her “evergreen” love for exquisite orchids (clues in the name, guys), Carmela founded OR in 2013. That focus on her favourite plant quickly expanded into a fully-formed floristry studio offering an abundance of beautiful bouquets and table arrangements. Describing their style as “chic and modern”, Carmela’s favorite floral memories always stem (excuse the pun) from that all-hands-on-deck Valentine’s Day period. “I love how everyone at the shop works so hard to create beautiful things for expressing love,” Carmela says.
