Harborne is an area of south-west Birmingham, West Midalands. Known locally as 'the village', Harborne is one of the more expensive areas of Birmingham. The area moved from Warickshire into Birmingham after constituents voted to become part of Birmingham in 1891. The name is derived from someone who worked as a person who ran a lodging house, Harberer, and is derived from the Old English word herebeorg, which means shelter or lodging.
