Tufnell Park's Finest Independent Florists
An area in North London, Tufnell Park runs along the border of the London Boroughs of Islington and Camden.
An increasingly affluent area home to an ever increasing number of families, Tufnell Park’s shopping outlets and cafes are often found to be swarming with young mothers. The area is named after the Tufnell family, who had acquired the local manor in the mid-18th century. It enjoyed steady growth until 1845, when serious building work began in a scheme sponsored by Henry Tufnell. In 1878, the private girls’ school in the area was closed down, following the death of many of its pupils in the Princess Anne disaster.
Tufnell Park tube station, located in close proximity, caused outrage in 2015, following an announcement it was to close for nine months whilst work was carried out on its lifts. Nine months does seem like a long time to replace a lift, in fairness.
