Southend On Sea is a resort town located on the Thames Estuary in the southeast English county of Essex.
Southend is home to the longest pleasure pier in the world. At 1.34 miles long, there is even a small train running the length of the pier, transporting revellers from the shore to the end of the pier, which holds a museum. Opening seasonally, the museum includes exhibitions on the pier and Southend’s past, with examples of period attractions, costumes and more. The pier itself is a Grade II listed structure and is emblematic of Southend On Sea.
Close to Southend On Sea the ruins of Hadleigh Castle stand overlooking the Thames Estuary. Built during the reign of Henry III in 1215, the area is popular for its lush green surrounds as much as for the atmospheric ruins themselves.
Throughout the area, from Westcliff On Sea to Shoeburyness, Floom’s Southend On Sea flower delivery covers the entire town.
