We talk a lot about the fleeting beauty of cut flowers, but look at Amadeus Florist and it quickly hits home just how enduring the allure of a beautiful bouquet is. Located in Coulsdon, south London, Amadeus has been around for over 80 years, a family run business that, in their own words, has always run on “real passion”.
The florist caters for “happy days, sad days and just because days”. “Flowers are used for all of life’s special moments – births, deaths, new homes and anniversaries,” as florist Rita Marfo says, simply. But there’s nothing simple about the bouquets that Rita and her team create, however, with an “elegant, stylish and country look” running throughout everything they design and sell.
Working in flowers is “fulfilling,” sys Rita, especially for the delivery driver, the “biggest personality” in their team of four because he gets to see the “reaction of all the recipients”. And there are many. Amadeus has built up a strong reputation down the many years and delivers flowers, sourced as locally possible or from Holland, far and wide throughout Surrey.
