The Harebell (Campanula rotundifolia), is a perennial flowering plant that’s the official flower of Yorkshire. Our selection for floral symbol of all Yorkshire counties including South Yorkshire, the Harebell is also known as blawort, lady’s thimble and hare-bell.

With five violet-blue petals that fuse together to form an elegant bell-shape, the Harebell is a handsome flowering plant that tends to grow in parched grasslands across Britain and much of Europe.

A hardy plant, the Harebell flowers from July all the way through Autumn and into November.
