Flower of Stockport
The Mayflower (Cardamine Pratensis) or cuckooflower is a symbol of Stockport’s local area. Arriving each year at the same time as the cuckoos in early spring, this pale violet-pink flower blooms along the edge of the two rivers that come together to form the Mersey in Stockport’s centre.
