Bideford was the landing point of Sir Walter Raleigh and his first shipment of the tobacco plant. The port has long been used for importing goods and building powerful ships, and has nearby the only town in the UK to feature an exclamation mark as an official character of its name. The town, Westward Ho! was named after the book of the same name by local writer Charles Kingsley. The unique pigment found in the surrounding area of Bideford, called Bideford Black, was used in World War Two as camouflage paint, and is now used in Max Factor mascara!
If you’ve walked through Bideford and seen the sights and smells of the marketplace, we can ship that straight to your home. Our local independent florists have years of experience in flower arranging and delivery, able to craft sensational displays on a minimum notice. IF you’ve got a big day coming up, or just know someone in the town that could do with a treat, let Floom do the hard work for you and watch the magic happen.
