Description

Hanging or standing Kokodama Humata Fern. The Humata fern originally from Fiji. In natural conditions it grows on trees and crevices using its unique rhizomes to absorb moisture and nutrients, unlike common plants which require soil. The foliage of this fern is a rich green, and it unfurls from softly hairy rhizomes that creep along the top of the compost and eventually dangle over the sides of the pot. Humata is one of the easiest ferns to grow. It will flourish in a brightly lit spot (away from direct sunlight), and as it loves high humidity, is happiest in bathrooms or kitchens - ideally away from radiators. THE KOKODAMA The Kokodama pot is a handmade sphere made from natural coconut fibers which make it very light, and perfect to be used for hanging garden arrangements. You could even hang it on adhesive hooks without making any holes in the wall or ceiling. One Kokodama gives a lovely natural touch to any interior, and several bunched together can create amazing jungle effects.

How to care for your plants

  • Your plant’s pot should have holes in the bottom so it is able to drain water easily.

  • If reusing a pot that had other plants in it, it is recommended you wash the pot, killing any mould or bacteria.

  • Do not over water your plant as the roots will rot.

  • Most plants need to be kept by a good source of natural light.

  • You should fertilise your plant every two months. You can use all purpose fertiliser.

  • Any dead or fallen leaves should be removed to prevent bacteria and mould. Dead branches should also be removed.
