History of the Christmas Wreath:

The tradition of Christmas door wreaths goes back all the way to the 16th century, yet they are still just as popular today. Originally used in Christianity to symbolise Christ, Christmas wreaths have a circular shape for this very reason – as they have no beginning or end, symbolising the eternity of never ending life. In the 19th century this belief extended further, as evergreen wreaths were often laid on graves of the deceased to honour the dead.
