What is the official flower of Newcastle?
Monkeyflower (Erythranthe guttata) is the county flower of Tyne and Wear and also our choice for the region’s largest city, Newcastle Upon Tyne. The enormous flowers of the Monkeyflower make it a flamboyant, vibrant choice, and perhaps it reflects the famously friendly demeanor of Newcastle’s Geordie residents.
The Monkeyflower is found in a wide range of habitats and this may go some way toward explaining why it grows in the often harsh, wet countryside around Newcastle Upon Tyne.
How do I extend the life of my flowers?
Always avoid direct sunlight, and never place your flowers next to a radiator, heater, or under an air conditioner. Remove all the leaves from the stems which will be sitting in the water. Change water every 3 days. Re-cut the stems every time you change the water. Want more top tips from our florists on extending your flower life? Read our guide here.
Great choice of flowers and got delivered on time - will use again
Great experience, very easy to use and organise. I sent two seperate bunches to diff addresses in the UK, I live in New Zealand so wasn’t sure how to organise this easily, Floom was a breeze, no issues, plenty of choice, quick payment and flowers arrived on time on schedule. Thank you.
Very pretty and my girlfriend loves it. Only problem is they don’t call when they deliver.
Really lovely flowers - super prompt and easy delivery
My only critiques are the flowers received were different than those in the photo . I was trying to avoid roses as they die quickly but the bouquet was mostly roses it seemed. Also ask zip code first please so you only see what’s actually available in that area. Otherwise I’ve been very pleased ! Thank you ….
Beautiful flowers delivered, small issue with communications but flowers arrived on the day
Floom’s flowers were actually more beautiful in person! I would highly recommend :)
I have both received and sent flowers with Floom and had wonderful experiences both times! I love the unique arrangements from the array of florists they work with. It is a nice change of pace from the same bouquets at all the other usual suspects, and I really like to find new local shops to support.
