When to plant daffodil bulbs
The spring flower should be planted in autumn. Planting daffodil bulbs should be done in august or early September. The bulbs should be planted in an area with some shade, but they must receive a good amount of sunlight throughout the day. Make sure that the area daffodils are planted have a good amount of drainage, as daffodil bulbs struggle with high volumes of water.
Are daffodils poisonous?
Daffodil bulbs contain a toxic chemical called lycorine. Whilst it is present within the bulb, eating any part of a daffodil will cause stomach discomfort and nausea for up to three hours. Care must be taken to keep pets away from these plants, as the poisonous affects of daffodils are far more severe for pets.
