Friday Hill House is located on the crest of the hill, and was built in 1839 by the architect Lewis Vulliamy. Perhaps more interestingly, King Charles II is said to have knighted a loin of beef at Friday Hill. We really hope this is true, mainly because he is said to have knighted the beef as 'Sir Loin' ...
